Finning International Inc. is hiring multiple Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our Integrated Mining Team (IMT).

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Caterpillar mining equipment across BC and the Yukon, focusing on reliability and safety in demanding field environments. The ideal candidate holds Interprovincial HET and Red Seal Off Road, with 3+ years in the field, strong electrical, hydraulic, and emissions knowledge, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial HET Certification required.
• Red Seal Off Road certificate required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
• 3+ years as Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, mining experience preferred.
• Strong electrical, hydraulic and emissions systems knowledge.
• Gas engine and power generation experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Take on a role where your skills and passion keep the heavy iron moving. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with IMT, you’ll troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Mining Equipment.

Your work will include:

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environment
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Red Seal Off Road certificate required
• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• 3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, with demonstrated time in the field, mining operations is an asset
• Strong skills in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset

Important Details:

• This position is based on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
• Up to $1,000 / rotation travel allowance to get to marshalling point (tax free)
• A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
