Job summary

Finning is hiring Heavy Duty Field Mechanics to support our customers in the Oil Sands near Fort McMurray, Alberta. If you have large CAT mining equipment field service experience, this role is for you.

You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain Caterpillar mining equipment in the field, perform diagnostics, overhauls, and document services. We offer competitive wages, shift premiums, vacation, benefits and many Finning training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson HET Certification is required.
• Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician is required.
• Strong field troubleshooting skills on the Caterpillar mining product line for field-based positions.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract for field positions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain Caterpillar mining equipment.
• Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs.
• Execute large-scale overhauls and rebuilds.
• Component replacements as needed.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranties, crossover notes).
• Interact with customers, sales support, and Finning team.

Important Detail:

• This position will work a 14x14 shift, rotating days and nights.
