Job summary

Jardeg-Construction is recruiting for a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice for the Saskatoon Shop and Yard. This is a day shift position with a 5 days on, 2 days off schedule and local candidates only. No LOA or travel is offered.

You will perform maintenance, repairs and overhauls on heavy equipment, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults, and work closely with customers and operations personnel to ensure work meets manufacturers' specs and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and trucks.
• WHMIS 2015 certified.
• Local candidates in Saskatoon area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment and sizes including loaders, excavators, skid steers, lifting equipment like zoom booms, etc.
• Large scale overhauls and rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot and diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Preventive maintenance and services.
• Complete work according to the manufacturer's specifications.
• Work closely with customers maintenance and operations personnel.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.
