Job summary

Jardeg-Construction is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson to join our Calgary Yard team. The role involves field work from a service truck, servicing civil construction equipment across multiple sites in Calgary and surrounding areas.

The position operates on a 5 days on, 2 days off schedule, with a strong emphasis on safety, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance. Provincial Red Seal certification is required, along with 3–5 years of experience and a valid Class 5 license.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification in Heavy Equipment Technician trade.
• 3–5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment in field or yard environments.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on maintenance and repairs of civil construction equipment (dozers, articulated trucks, excavators).
• Perform running repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults; interpret manuals and work orders.
• Ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
• Operate primarily from a service truck, travel to multiple job sites within Calgary and surroundings.

Jardeg is currently recruiting for a skilledHeavy Equipment Technician Journeypersonto work with Technical Workforce Inc. at ourCalgary Yard.

The schedule for this position is 5 days on and 2 days off. This position is mainly based in the field, working out of service truck in the Yard and on our multiple project sites within Calgary and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

• Hands on maintenance and repairs of all civil construction equipment including dozers, articulated trucks, excavators, etc.
• Running repairs and maintenance work.
• Troubleshoot and diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Preventive maintenance and services.
• Complete work according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Work closely with customers maintenance and operations personnel.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.
• Ability to understand hydraulic and electronic schematics.
• Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification inHeavy Equipment Techniciantrade
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment in a field or a yard
• Experience working independently out of a service truck in active construction environments
• Ability and willingness to travel to multiple job sites and work primarily in the field
• Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of safe work practices and job site protocols
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Reliable transportation to get to work
