Job summary

Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE) in Calgary seeks a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Journeyperson to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair municipal and public works vehicles, including vacuum trucks and street sweepers. You will work with a team to maximize uptime while upholding safety and workmanship standards.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Journeyperson with strong troubleshooting skills and a collaborative mindset, committed to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson certificate or Red Seal endorsement required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory abstract.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of heavy-duty and specialized municipal equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Repair and maintain vacuum trucks, hydro-vac units, street sweepers, refuse and recycling trucks, sewer inspection equipment, and other specialty vehicles.
• Complete work orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining service documentation.
• Collaborate with the Service Writer, Parts Department, and fellow technicians to maximize equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and regulatory safety standards.
