Job summary

JT Equipment in Calgary, AB is seeking an Apprentice or Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our fast paced, growing team. You will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of construction equipment, diagnose issues, and communicate findings clearly to the shop and crews.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction equipment industry preferred.
• Journeyman HET technician or 3rd/4th year apprentice required.

Responsibilities and Duties

• The successful candidate will be responsible for completing quality repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of construction equipment
• Completing preventative maintenance services as set out by checklists
• Is able to identify possible failures before they lead to downtime
• Complete equipment diagnostics and effectively communicate findings
• Overhaul and major repairs on components
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment at all times

Qualifications and Skills

• Exceptional attitude and understanding of the demands of the construction equipment industry
• Journeyman H.E.T. technician 3rd or 4th year apprentice
• Equipment experienced valued but not required, We welcome on highway and automotive technicians looking for a change
• Have a complete set of hand and air tools. Specialty diagnostic equipment and large tools will be supplied
• Physically fit and able to meet the demands of heavy equipment repairs
• Dealership experience and training considered an asset
• Proficient with equipment diagnostics, hydraulic and electrical, considered an asset
• Able to read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics to assist in diagnostics
