Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health seeks a Qualified Persons Security Officer (QPSO) to support a safe healthcare environment. Licensed as a Security Guard and trained in de-escalation, you will protect clients, staff and visitors, assist with custody transfers, and coordinate with clinical teams to ensure safety across PMH facilities.

You will respond to emergencies, monitor CCTV and access controls, and help maintain security documentation while adhering to Mental Health Act requirements and regional

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Security Patrol Officer in a healthcare setting.
• Eligible for Manitoba Security Officer licensure.
• QP training and competency per Mental Health Act.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a physical presence at health facilities for rapid response to potentially violent or threatening persons.
• Protect life and property at PMH designated sites.
• Coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.
• Escort at-risk persons within the health site and complete required reports.
• Respond to emergencies and support incident command as required.
• Provide training and orientation to security personnel as directed.
