Job summary

St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg is seeking Healthcare Institutional Safety Officers to respond to high-frequency behaviours in acute and forensic units, enforcing bylaws and laws under the Police Services Act while supporting patient care.

You will participate in a training pathway leading to ISO designation with ongoing retraining, collaborating with medical staff, police and community partners to maintain safe, respectful environments.

Qualifications

• Must complete ISO Training Program and maintain annual retraining.
• Be designated as an ISO (Peace Officer status under Manitoba Police Services Act).
• Complete intermediate weapons training and ongoing certification as authorized.
• Pass the Physical Abilities test.

Responsibilities

• Respond to high-risk situations in healthcare facilities.
• Enforce bylaws and applicable statutes as outlined in the Police Services Act.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, law enforcement and other stakeholders.
• Provide enforcement, prevention, intervention and education of applicable legislation.
