Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in Environmental Services, ensuring a clean, aseptic environment across a large geographic area. You will schedule work, manage preventive programs, and respond to service requests while guiding a team of about 40 staff.

This role emphasizes leadership in a healthcare setting, strong customer service, crisis management, and adherence to WHMIS and safety practices.

Qualifications

• OHA certification in Environmental Services and a related Community College diploma required.
• Minimum of three years operational EVS supervisor experience in a healthcare setting.
• Proven ability to lead and manage unionized staff.
• Experience with collective agreements and grievance processes.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong trouble-shooting and problem-resolution abilities.
• Solid knowledge of infection prevention and control practices in hospitals.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and assignments.
• Strong decision-making and working under pressure, including crisis situations.
• Familiarity with WHMIS and workplace health and safety obligations.

Responsabilités

• Schedule, coordinate and assign work routines, monitor quality and progress.
• Manage daily activities of environmental maintenance programs.
• Respond to service requests and investigate and remedy issues.
• Provide operational leadership and training to staff averaging 40 across large area.
• Utilize resources effectively to meet objectives.
• Foster inter-departmental relations and stakeholder communications.
• Evaluate staff performance on an ongoing and annual basis.
• Implement innovative solutions and correct deficiencies in service quality.
• Execute contingency strategies to ensure service during crises.
