Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health seeks a Supervisor Environmental Services to lead the Environmental Services department at the facility level. Reporting to Area Manager – Environmental Services, you will plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate operations, manage human and fiscal resources, and promote staff development and teamwork.

You will oversee staff scheduling, ensure quality cleaning standards, and drive process improvements in a dynamic healthcare environment while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education (MB Standards).
• Completion of a leadership or supervision certificate based program or equivalent education.
• Three years of housekeeping/laundry experience in the last five years.
• Proficient in health care cleaning techniques and cleaning equipment/technology.
• Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent with access to a personal vehicle.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet tools.
• Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability.
• Strong organizational, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing techniques and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work respectfully with a culturally diverse population and within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule staff daily in line with budget and overtime rules.
• Ensure adequate staffing and resource provision for the department.
• Apply HR staffing procedures and manage vacancies.
• Maintain competent staff to deliver high-quality work within resources.
• Administer vacation procedures and approve time-off requests.
• Coordinate and organize staff meetings and reporting.
• Support attendance, performance appraisal processes and audits.
• Identify operational improvements with the service team.
• Develop and review Environmental Services policies and procedures.
• Ensure documentation aligns with policy and manage expenditures.
