Job summary

Alberta Health Services Environmental Services is seeking a Casual/Relief Environmental Services staff at Tofield Health Centre. You will perform cleaning and disinfection of clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments, including floors, windows, and linen areas, to support a safe, healthy patient stay.

Your duties cover sweeping, mopping, restocking, and using industrial cleaning equipment while maintaining confidentiality and reporting hazards as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop and vacuum; restock bathroom supplies.
• Strip linen and make beds; replenish cleaning supplies and linens.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration.
• Wash ceilings and windows; dispose of hazardous waste as needed.
• Identify and report potential hazards to the Working Leader; participate in training of Environmental or Laundry staff.

Description

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
