Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a General Worker for the Northern Zone, Colchester East Hants Health Centre. The role involves cleaning and servicing assigned areas to ensure safety and a healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Some handling of infectious materials may be required with proper PPE, and frequent contact with water and cleaning/disinfecting chemicals may occur. Requirements include Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience, strong verbal, reading and writing skills,

Qualifications

• Grade 12/GED required or equivalent work experience
• Good verbal, reading and writing skills are required
• Previous housekeeping experience an asset
• French language competencies are an asset, French preferred

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services assigned areas to ensure safety and healthy environment for patients, visitors and employees
• Assists in recovery by maintaining a clean, attractive and safe environment
• May handle infectious materials with proper PPE and frequent contact with water and cleaning/disinfecting chemicals
