Job summary

Primary Engineering and Construction Corporation seeks a Manager, Health & Safety to lead safety across our growing construction and engineering operations. You will mentor a safety team, build leadership relationships, and drive continuous improvements in safety performance.

The role focuses on strengthening safety leadership and compliance, with expansion to company-wide responsibilities over time. A dynamic, people-first leader who challenges the status quo will thrive here.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive health and safety experience in construction or field operations.
• 2+ years of leadership/mentoring experience.
• Certification as NCSO or CRSP or equivalent diploma/certification.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Experience developing, implementing, and improving health and safety programs and management systems.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a safety team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Oversee and continuously improve safety programs, policies, and procedures; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and report on safety KPIs; drive initiatives to reduce incidents and hazards.
• Collaborate with construction leaders and engineering to integrate safety into operations and projects.
