Job summary

Ledcor is seeking an established Health & Safety Lead/Manager with extensive pipeline industry experience to lead the execution of a broad range of safety programs on-site. The role involves collaborating with diverse teams, implementing safety management systems, and ensuring compliance across project lifecycles.

You will drive risk assessments, safety training, and incident investigations while coordinating toolbox talks and site-specific safety meetings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of pipeline industry experience.
• CRSP, Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or NCSO designation.
• Technical knowledge of construction practices in Pipeline Construction/Maintenance.
• Ability to communicate with hourly workforce and management.
• Proactive safety approach; identify issues and develop strategies.
• Experience in risk assessment, program development, safety training and incident investigation.
• Ability to adapt information for different audiences and influence others.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Valid provincial driver’s license and driver’s abstract.
• Pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of the work area and coordinate with field supervisors to ensure safety equipment availability.
• Advise operations on Ledcor's Health and Safety Management System and project lifecycle execution.
• Monitor compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
• Assist in safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, focus audits and incident investigations.
• Verify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors and action plans.
• Conduct HS&E orientations for employees and subcontractors during onboarding.
• Support site leadership with safety meeting materials and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate and deliver toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents.
• Monitor and report on effectiveness of HS&E plans.
• Audit field hazard assessments and incident investigation reports for accuracy.
• Assist with occupational hygiene practices and awareness of medical screening programs.
