Job summary

CIHI in Canada is seeking a co-op student to support the advancement of case mix’s acute care products, focusing on testing changes to methodology and predictive models for hospital resource use and length of stay. You’ll maintain grouping and indicator methods and work nationally on health data projects.

You will gain hands-on experience with Python, Pyspark, and Office tools while documenting results and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree requirements with co-op as part of the program.
• Fluent English; bilingualism is an asset.
• Proficiency with Python/Pyspark and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Use Python (and VSCode) to maintain and enhance case mix grouping and indicators.
• Coordinate, collaborate, monitor, report and document activities.
• Participate in problem-solving and propose solutions.
• Test and refine methodology to improve national grouping and indicators.
