Technology, Operations & Marketing Co-op Student

Admin Full Time Burnaby, BC $20 CAD per hour

Changepain is a multidisciplinary pain clinic in Burnaby, BC with approximately75staff members providing comprehensive chronic pain management services. We combine medicalexpertisewith allied health services in a collaborative healthcare environment. Our IT and Operations team is focused on building automation solutions and streamlining workflows to improve both staff efficiency and patient experience.

Position Overview

We'relooking for a technically curious co-op student who wants hands-on experience building real automation solutions in a healthcare environment.You'llbe working on projects that reduce manual work, improve patient communication, and solve operational bottlenecks.You'llwork directly with our IT, Operations & QATeamto tackle workflow challenges using AI, automation tools, and creative problem-solving.

What You'll Work On

Email Automation & Workflow Optimization

  • Build and refine AI-powered email categorization systems using Power Automate and Microsoft 365 tools
  • Currently staff spend 2-3 hours daily sorting emails manually—you'llhelp automate routing for bookings, cancellations, prescription requests, and general inquiries
  • Create rules, filters, and smart routing logic to get the right emails to the right people automatically
  • Help design and test AI phone automation solutions for appointment booking and patient inquiries
  • Improve our existing appointment confirmation workflow (built in Power Automate) and patient communication tracking systems
  • Research and evaluatenewAItoolstooptimizeour patient experience.

IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration tasks (user management, Teams configuration, SharePoint setup)
  • Helpmaintainour internal IT ticketing system and documentation in Microsoft Teams
  • SupportITinfrastructure projects includingstoragemanagementandgeneraltroubleshooting
  • Assistwith hardware deployment, system updates, and general IT support as needed

Process Improvement & Data Analysis

  • Identifyworkflow bottlenecks and propose automation opportunities
  • Build tracking systems andanalyticaldashboards tomonitoroperational metrics
  • Document processes, create SOPs, and help standardize workflows across the clinic

Marketing & Digital Content

  • Create and schedule short-form content for social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook) including graphics, copy, patient stories, and health education posts
  • Design and deploy email marketing campaigns for patient education, service announcements,etc.
  • Track marketing performance metrics across all channels,participatein strategic brainstorming sessions, and research healthcare marketing trends to support clinic growth
Special Projects
  • Explore integrations between our EMR system and other tools.Understanding what's possible and what workarounds are needed
  • Test and implement AI toolssuchascustom automation bots for specific use cases

Must-Haves:

  • Enrolled in a co-op program at a BC post-secondary institution
  • Studying Information Technology, Business Technology, Operations, or a related field
  • Comfortable with Windows environments and Microsoft 365 tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to figure things out independently

PreferredExperience:
  • Experience with Power Automate,PowerBI, etc.
  • Familiarity with AI tools like Claude,ChatGPTorCopilot
