In this role you will be supporting the advancement of case mix’s acute care products, primarily focusing on testing potential changes to the methodology and associated algorithms used to predict resource utilization and estimated length of stay hospital patients. This job will focus on maintaining and enhancing the existing grouping and indicator methodology. These case mix products are used nationally in hospitals and by health system providers to help monitor and manage hospital-based care.
As a co-op student, you will be involved in a variety of activities to support priority projects within our department. These projects are key in helping us drive CIHI’s overall mandate to deliver on better data, better decisions, for healthier Canadians. This unique opportunity will expose you to areas of hospital inpatient and outpatient grouping methodology and concerns. You’ll get to further your experience in using Python, adapting predictive models as well as Microsoft office products for documentation and presentation of results.
