About The Role
The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of safety strategies that align with company values, project goals, and regulatory requirements. This role will work collaboratively across departments and project teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of HSE strategies, policies, and procedures
- Support field teams with on-site inspections, coaching, and safety engagement
- Manage incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and follow-up
- Provide input for bids, tenders, and client safety requirements
- Deliver and manage training programs and subcontractor safety oversight
- Prepare reports, analyze KPIs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership and functional departments to align safety programs with company goals
What You Bring
- NCSO Certification or equivalent post-secondary safety credentials (CRSP, CHSC, or CUSP considered assets)
- 3-5 years of progressive safety experience in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of provincial OHS regulations and regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting platforms
- A passion for coaching, mentoring, and driving a proactive safety culture
Powerline Construction Experience Is a Major Asset
Candidates with experience in powerline construction will be prioritized. Those without will be required to spend time on active project sites during onboarding to gain essential industry knowledge and understanding of our high-risk work environments.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel throughout Western Canada
- Valid driver's license and ability to work from project offices or field locations as needed
