Job summary

BuildOps, the AI-native platform for commercial contractors, is seeking a Head of Product Design to lead, grow, and scale the design function across our suite of products. You will own the end-to-end design strategy, shape user experience, and embed AI into design workflows and customer experiences.

You will build and guide a world-class design team, partnering with Product, Engineering, and executives to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product design experience, with leadership in high-growth SaaS environments.
• Proven track record of setting and executing a cohesive design vision.
• Experience designing and shipping B2B or B2B2C products across mobile and web.
• Strong design instincts with fluency in UX, UI, interaction design, and systems thinking.
• Demonstrated experience scaling teams, mentoring designers, and building high-performing cultures.
• Expert proficiency in design tools and fluency with AI tools to accelerate design workflows.
• Exceptional communication skills for influencing stakeholders and presenting to executives.
• A compelling portfolio that demonstrates product thinking, execution, and business impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of product designers across multiple product surfaces.
• Set the strategic design vision aligned with company strategy and product goals.
• Build and scale the design organization: define structure, hire, mentor, and drive culture.
• Establish strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and execs.
• Champion design excellence through scalable systems, tooling, and processes.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to develop enterprise-grade solutions and AI-powered experiences.
• Guide the evolution of our design system and visual language across mobile and web.
• Be the voice for users using research, visits, and data to inform design decisions.
• Foster a culture of rapid experimentation, feedback, and continuous improvement.
