Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking an experienced General Manager (Food Services) to oversee operations, ensure customer satisfaction, and lead a large team in a high-volume environment. The role involves client relations, staff management, menu planning, and compliance with strict quality assurance, health & safety, and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in foodservice management, AFST and Health & Safety certifications, strong financial acumen, and proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with experience in foodservice management.
• AFST plus Level 1/2 Health & Safety certification or willingness to complete within 90 days.
• Strong financial management skills: cost control and data analysis.
• Experience in high-volume operations with multiple concepts.
• Proven GM or similar role in food service.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word).
• POS system knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relations and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Oversee staff and management across union and non-union teams.
• Plan menus and coordinate food concepts.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance, health & safety, and environmental programs.
