Job summary

The North West Company in Winnipeg MB seeks a Director, Business Technology and AI to prioritize and govern technology investments, delivering measurable business value. You will serve as the enterprise interface between business and IT and own the end-to-end demand lifecycle from idea intake to value realization.

You will lead BRM relationships with senior leaders, shape AI strategy, govern SaaS portfolios, ensure regulatory and security considerations, and drive adoption and continued value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, CS or related field; master's is a plus.
• 10+ years in technology, BRM, portfolio management, or governance roles.
• 3-5 years leading enterprise portfolio management and governance processes.
• Proven experience developing enterprise AI strategies and responsible AI practices.
• Strong ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary BRM for all business units and single intake for technology demand.
• Translate strategic priorities into technology initiatives with defined outcomes and value.
• Lead enterprise demand shaping, prioritization, and trade-off discussions for enterprise value.
• Own enterprise demand management and portfolio governance framework integrity.
• Evaluate and prioritize investments across AI, SaaS, and custom development initiatives.
• Maintain a cohesive enterprise technology portfolio and reduce duplication and shadow IT.
• Define, evolve, and govern the enterprise AI strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee AI governance and ensure privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead SaaS governance including demand intake, evaluation, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure accountability, measurable value, and integration alignment for SaaS solutions.
• Monitor emerging AI tech and market trends to drive recommendations and innovation.
• Collaborate with architecture, delivery, data, security, procurement, and business teams.
