Frankie’s Italian Kitchen & Bar in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant specializing in Italian and European cuisine. This full-time, on-site role requires strong leadership and menu development skills.

The Head Chef will manage culinary staff, plan menus, ensure quality standards, and coordinate with suppliers, while maintaining inventory and cost controls.

Qualifications

• 3 years to less than 5 years of kitchen or culinary leadership experience.
• Secondary education completed; high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
• Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
• Create new recipes
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Recruit and hire staff
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
