Job summary

Food World Plus is seeking a Head of Kitchen Operations in Mississauga to lead the development, launch and ongoing management of our kitchen operations. You will oversee all daily activities, ensure top-quality dining experiences, and drive policies, workflows and standards across multiple concepts.

The role requires senior leadership, hands-on culinary expertise and a strong background in food safety, inventory management and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior kitchen leadership role.
  • Hands-on culinary leadership with extensive cooking experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale kitchen operations and multiple concepts.
  • Ability to create and develop menus across cuisines.
  • Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety, sanitation and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Food World Plus is a growing food and hospitality company committed to delivering exceptional food experiences across multiple cuisines and food concepts. We are seeking an experienced and driven head of kitchen operations to lead the development, launch and management of our kitchen operations in Mississauga.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on culinary leader who is passionate about food, team development, operational excellence and creating high‑quality dining experiences.

What You’ll Do
Kitchen Leadership & Operations
  • Lead the setup, organization and launch of kitchen operations.
  • Oversee all daily kitchen activities to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
  • Develop and implement kitchen policies, procedures, workflows and operational standards.
  • Coordinate with management to achieve operational and business objectives.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas operate efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
Team Recruitment & Management
  • Recruit, interview, hire and onboard kitchen staff.
  • Train, mentor and develop chefs, cooks and kitchen team members.
  • Schedule staff and oversee day‑to‑day team performance.
  • Foster a positive, professional and team‑oriented work environment.
  • Ensure all team members follow company policies and kitchen procedures.
Menu Development & Culinary Excellence
  • Create and develop menus for multiple food concepts and cuisines.
  • Design recipes, portion standards and preparation procedures.
  • Introduce new menu items and culinary innovations.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation and quality across all menu offerings.
  • Participate in food preparation and cooking activities when required.
Food Quality & Safety
  • Monitor and maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of food preparation and finished dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation and health regulations.
  • Maintain proper food handling, storage and cleanliness procedures.
  • Implement corrective actions when quality standards are not met.
Inventory & Cost Control
  • Manage inventory levels and oversee purchasing activities.
  • Monitor food costs, waste and kitchen expenses.
  • Establish inventory control systems and ordering procedures.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality products and cost‑effective purchasing.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock rotation practices.
Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior kitchen leadership role such as Executive Chef, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or Head of Kitchen Operations.
  • Strong hands‑on culinary background with extensive cooking experience.
  • Experience managing large‑scale kitchen operations and multiple food concepts.
  • Ability to create and develop menus across various cuisines.
  • Strong leadership, communication and team‑building skills.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety, sanitation and kitchen operations.
  • Experience with inventory management, purchasing and cost control.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred

  • Culinary diploma or formal culinary training.
  • Food Handler Certification.
  • Experience launching or expanding food service operations.
  • Multi‑cuisine experience is considered a strong asset.
