Job summary

Kibbi in Kelowna, Canada, is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and ensure top-quality dishes for everyday service and special events.

You will supervise 5-10 cooks and kitchen staff, plan menus, and implement health and safety standards while training staff and driving innovations in cooking techniques.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years of experience or equivalent in a kitchen environment.
  • Food Safety Certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate amounts and costs of supplies and food items.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
  • Prepare and cook food regularly or for special guests or functions.
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants.
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
