Job summary

Kal Tire in Fort St. John, BC, is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician to perform routine maintenance, repairs on semi-trucks, and diagnostics in a safe, well-equipped shop.

Qualifications

  • Fully licensed as a Heavy Duty Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal).
  • Proven experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments is preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills across heavy vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of general mechanical services, including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
  • Mentor and coach apprentices, supporting their skill development in a learning-focused environment.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team on vehicles from standard cars to light trucks.
  • Identify potential service opportunities with the Sales team.
  • Maintain high safety and quality standards in all tasks.

We’re looking for (Journeyperson/Journeyman) Heavy Duty Technician to perform routine maintenance, complex repairs on semi-trucks, trailer alignments, diagnostics, electrical work, install bushings, kingpin shocks, and more. This full-time, permanent role is based in our Fort St John, BC store.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Fully licensed as a Heavy Duty Technician (Journeyperson/Journeyman or Red Seal certified
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Brings a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignments
  • Experienced in performing inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
