Job summary

River Cree Resort & Casino in Alberta seeks an experienced Sales Manager to drive group sales and revenue. You will handle inquiries, close group business, and coordinate site inspections while turning opportunities into booked events.

This role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to up-sell across multiple groups. You will work within peak parameters, collaborate with Event Management and Operations, and ensure seamless turnover from sales to service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in hotel sales/marketing.
• Current Sales Manager in an Edmonton-area hotel preferred.
• Experience in large group sales is required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel; scheduling ability.

Responsibilities

• Achieves group revenue goals by responding to incoming group/catering opportunities.
• Understand market dynamics and sell against competitors.
• Close opportunities based on market conditions and property needs.
• Negotiate contracts and upsell to maximize revenue.
• Partner with sales team to identify new group/catering opportunities.
• Act as on-property liaison for group events and turnover to operations.
• Develop group revenue and operating budgets and provide forecasts.
• Support the execution of group sales promotions and plans.
• Attend pre- and post-convention meetings to capture feedback.
