Job summary

Hikezilla is seeking a Groundskeeper for a luxury property in Banff. This seasonal role starts April 15 with an hourly rate of $20.80, increasing to $23.72 after three years, and after six months. Immediate start is available.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety and cleanliness, snow removal, rubbish/recycling duties, and assisting with outdoor projects. Requires outdoor work in varying weather, a Class 5 driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract in good standing.
• Previous landscaping experience is an asset.
• Able to stand, walk, and bend for an 8-hour shift.
• Capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 70 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors and at heights on ladders.

Responsibilities

• Keep the exterior property safe and clean and manage litter, spills, debris and recycling.
• Perform snow removal to keep paths, sidewalks, and stairs clear.
• Assist with outdoor projects and seasonal maintenance duties.
• Report to Grounds Manager and perform other duties as assigned.

In order to exceed visitors’ expectations, a Groundskeeper takes enormous pride in the high attention to detail they give to the property’s safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. As our guests arrive, the exterior property is their first impression for their luxury stay. Starting Rate: $20.80 per hour We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $23.72 This position will start immediate - April 15, this is a seasonal position. Job Duties Include : Reporting to the Grounds Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service Ensuring the entire property is safe and clean: free of litter, spills, gravel, and plant debris Changing of rubbish and recycling bins, emptying of ash tubes, and replenishing of wood piles Labor intensive work in the form of shoveling, chipping, digging, lifting, carrying, etc. with a strong attention to detail Various snow removal tasks ensuring paths, sidewalks, stairs are free of snow and ice at all times Various tasks involving property maintenance, tree health, and firewood Assisting with various outdoor projects and seasonal requirements Other duties as assigned Your Skills & Qualifications : Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract in good standing Previous landscaping experience is an asset Constant standing, walking, and bending throughout 8hr shift Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 70 lbs., sometimes up and down stairs Comfortable working on ladders while holding/lifting items Must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
