Job summary

Highline Mushrooms, located near Crossfield, AB, is seeking a Permanent, Full-Time Grounds and Maintenance Associate. You will operate farm equipment, perform groundskeeping, assist with dust control, unload materials, and help with minor repairs on site.

The role requires strict PPE usage and safety reporting. Shifts are typically 7:00AM–3:30PM or 8:00AM–4:30PM, 5–6 days per week, about 40–45 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada without restrictions.
• Forklift, Skid steer and Telehandler certification an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and upkeep of grounds and facilities.
• Driving of farm equipment.
• Dust control with calcium solution on roadways.
• Weed-whacking around facility and maintaining flower beds.
• Receiving and signing off on materials arriving to the farm.

General Duties:

• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of grounds and facilities




• Driving of farm equipment




• Mixing and spraying calcium solution on roadways for dust control




• Cutting Grass e. Filling propane canisters for forklifts (training provided)




• Weed-whacking around facility




• Maintaining flower beds.




• Receiving and signing off on materials/parts arriving to the farm




• Unloading material from supply trucks




• Loading spent compost onto trucks.




• Calling vac trucks etc. to keep drains and sumps clear




• Using Forklift to empty bins into 40yd dumpster




• Performing some minor repairs replacing castor wheels on trollies etc.




• Performs any other duties that may be assigned as required




• Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment




• Reports unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor




• Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses to the supervisor immediately




• Cooperates in the Early and Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.

Hours of Work:

• 5 to 6 days / week




• Approximately 40 to 45 hours / week; 8 to 10 hours / day




• Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled




• Daily shift end times vary based on production needs




• Shift time: 7:00AM to 3:30PM or 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Earnings:

• $22.44 Hourly
