Job summary

Highline Mushrooms in Langley, BC is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance department with preventative maintenance, breakdowns, installations and restorations. The role covers farm operations knowledge, low voltage electrical work, welding, and building repairs.

You will train new maintenance associates, perform boiler checks when scheduled, respond to emergency maintenance, and assist contractors.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Has knowledge of all farm operations, equipment, and maintenance responsibilities.
• Has low voltage electrical experience and knowledge; completes minor electrical jobs.
• Performs minor and major repairs on buildings and equipment unsupervised including, but not limited to, welding, replacing and repairing parts, hydraulics, pneumatics, low voltage electrical, and equipment, buildings and facilities.
• Assists in training new maintenance associates
• Completes preventative maintenance duties and completes checklists as assigned
• Performs operational checks on boilers as scheduled (L, K only)
• Evaluates jobs and determines requirements
• Observes and reports any issues on farm
• May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
• Assists and supports contractors
• Assists in verifying that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are operable, as requested
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Hours of Work:

• 5 days / week, Friday to Tuesday, 4:00pm-12:00am




• Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled




• Daily shift end times vary based on production needs

Earnings:

• $34.50 - $39.73 Hourly




• Shift premium of $0.50 after hours worked after 6:00pm
