Job summary

Highline Mushrooms, located in Leamington, Ontario, seeks a permanent, full-time Truck Driver to load and transport mushrooms between farms and local sites, and to complete daily logs in compliance with DOT requirements. The role also involves vehicle inspections prior to loading and ensuring adherence to GMPs and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Valid AZ license, above average driving record, insurable.
• 5 years transport driving experience preferred.
• Grade 10 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Loads and transports materials from source to destination in accordance with Company expectations.
• Completes logs daily in accordance with DOT requirements and vehicle inspection prior to loading.
• Submits to random alcohol and drug testing if requested to do so by the Company or by US Department of Transportation Authorities or other police authorities.
• Performs and records safety circle checks on truck being operated as per Ministry of Transportation (MOT) requirements.
• Maintain relationships and communication with customers.
• Complete necessary documentation, such as a waybill, load sheet, vehicle inspection log, etc.
• Operates pallet jack and lift truck to perform job duties as needed.
• Embrace and support the highline culture and values, acting as a brand ambassador at all times.
• Interact with others in a manner that promotes respect, confidentiality and dignity.
• Develop and actively foster an engaged work force, displaying professionalism at all times.

Position Summary:

• Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
• Reports unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor
• Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses to the supervisor immediately
• Cooperates in the Early and Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation.
• Immediately reports vehicle problems and takes immediate corrective action when warranted
• Chocks tires when loading or unloading in receiving docks
• Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) as trained
• Ensures food contamination preventative measures are followed
• Ensures that tools, equipment and vehicles are cleaned and sanitized before use
• Ensures that refrigeration equipment is working properly and the mushroom temperatures meet customer requirements
• Adheres to all quality standards per customer specifications
• Ensures mushrooms are transported within customer specifications as instructed by the Supervisor, Manager and Quality department
• Ensures mushrooms are moved and delivered in a manner that reduces or eliminates damage or contamination and ensures the highest quality product
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned as required

Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work in Canada
• Valid AZ license, above average driving record, insurable
• 5 years transport driving experience preferred
• Grade 10 or equivalent

Hours of Work:

• Tuesday to Saturday 1:00pm/2:00pm - 10:00pm/11:00pm
• Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled
• Daily shift end times vary based on production needs

Earnings:

• $24.80 Hourly
