Job summary

Compass Communities is seeking a Groundskeeper in Alberta to help keep outdoor spaces clean, safe, and running smoothly. You will perform maintenance on common areas, assist with resident requests, and support day-to-day community operations under the Community Manager.

The role requires 1+ years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to respond to emergencies (on-call). A background in mechanical trades is a strong asset; accommodations are available upon request.

Qualifications

• Organized and able to oversee multiple projects concurrently
• Emergency on-call availability
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to perform minor repairs and outdoor maintenance

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Regional Manager and/or Community Manager to resolve site issues and report all issues in a timely manner
• Repair and maintenance of common areas, including the cleaning of vacant lots
• General grounds keeping such as mowing, pruning, whipper snipping, and clearing catch basins
• Salting, sanding, and snow removal (where applicable)
• Distribute notices and letters to residents as required
• Follow up on resident issues as assigned
• Request material for items required for work orders
• Participate in all safety training within the assigned timeframe
• Other duties as assigned

Reporting to the Community Manager, the Groundskeepers role is to help keep the property clean, safe, and running smoothly by handling outdoor maintenance, minor repairs, resident requests and supporting day-to-day community operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Regional Manager and/or Community Manager by appropriate methods to resolve site issues and report all issues in a timely manner
• Repair and maintenance of common areas, including the cleaning of vacant lots
• General grounds keeping such as mowing, pruning, whipper snipping, and clearing catch basins
• Salting, sanding, and snow removal (where applicable)
• Distribute notices and letters to residents as required
• Follow up on resident issues as assigned
• Request material for items required for work orders
• Participate in all safety training within the assigned timeframe
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

• 1+ years of relevant experience
• Qualifications in one of the mechanical trades a strong asset
• Organized and able to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be available for emergency calls (on-call)
• A valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract are required
