Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario is hiring for an entry level Groomer I to maintain ski and snowboard terrain. The role involves operating grooming equipment, focusing on green and blue runs, and supporting senior staff as needed. You will complete safety and paperwork duties and report any equipment issues.

The position runs overnight for the December–March season, with a 12-hour shift schedule. A valid G license and the ability to work independently are required or advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Entry level slope grooming role.
  • Operate groomer equipment and techniques to maintain ski terrain on time and to high standards.
  • Groom green and blue runs and assist higher-level groomers when needed.
  • Complete pre-shift checks and post-shift housekeeping and paperwork.
  • Identify and report equipment issues and property damage.
  • Use GPS to improve decision making and efficiency and report safety issues.

FULL TIME HOURS Overnight shifts December- March 12-hour shifts

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
  • Groomer I is an entry level slope grooming position.
  • Responsible for using groomer equipment and techniques that are essential to maintaining ski and snowboard terrain at Blue Mountain Resort on time and to the highest standards.
  • Groom primarily green and blue runs and at times assist Groomer Operators - II, Team Leads and Managers on Duty with more difficult terrain and builds.
  • Perform pre shift circle checks and paperwork - post shift duties including housekeeping duties and mandatory paperwork.
  • Recognize and report equipment issues and property damage.
  • Work with a GPS system to improve decision making and increase efficiency.
  • Recognize and report or repair potential safety issues including but not limited to lighting, signage, padding and/or poor skiing/snowboarding surfaces.
  • Maintain a good working relationships and open communication with Snowmaking, Slope Maintenance, Patrol, Lifts, Terrain Park, Events and other on-hill staff.
