Job summary

Calgary Co-op is seeking a Grocery Utility Clerk to maintain a safe and efficient store operation while delivering excellent customer service. The role covers stocking, displays, price integrity, and inventory across dairy, freezer, grocery and warehouse areas.

Requirements include Grade 9 or equivalent and related retail experience, plus fluent English. Benefits include health coverage, vacations, staff discount, and growth opportunities within a large cooperative.

Qualifications

• Grade 9 or acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Related retail experience, including the provision of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through proper handling of questions, comments, requests and complaints.
• Stocking, building displays and facing in an efficient and organized manner across dairy, freezer, grocery and warehouse.
• Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns, including substitutions and price changes.
• Performs general cleanup duties and ensures the sales floor and back stock area are clean.
• Adheres to Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Reports repair requirements and ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Oversees ordering merchandise and supplies and receiving/invoicing processes.
• Assists in organizing and conducting inventory and training others in the grocery role.
