Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Short-Order/Grill Cook to join Saint Mary’s University’s Dockside Dining Hall. You will report to the Executive Chef and prepare menu items on the grill station, ensuring quality and timely service.

The role requires 1+ years of grill cook experience and offers a union environment with SEIU Local 2. Benefits include medical and dental coverage, paid vacation and sick time, RRSP, meal plan, and uniforms.

Qualifications

• 1+ years short order cook/grill cook experience.
• Experience with large quantity batch cooking is an asset.
• Working towards Journeyman or Red Seal Certification is an asset.
• Valid WHMIS and Food Safe certifications; First Aid is an asset.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and work supervised or unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Preps and cooks food on grills, fryers, and ovens according to the menu.
• May assist front line team in serving customers.
• Ensure quality and courteous customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.
• Assist with culinary auditing and temperature checks.
• Adhere to Aramark and Saint Mary’s University policies.
