Aramark Canada is seeking a motivated Food Service Worker to support Saint Mary’s University student center dining operations. You will contribute to a high-quality service experience across multiple food concepts, ensuring safe, efficient service for students, staff, and faculty.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to food safety standards, and flexible duties from food prep to customer interactions, with potential uniform and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced food service environments preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous.
• Ability to work efficiently alone or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assures quality, courteous customer service is provided to all customers
• Light cash handling duties including processing customer transactions, balancing float, participating in audits
• Educate customers on menu items, daily features, dining hall events
• Maintains continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
• Food preparation in accordance with menu at assigned station
• Stock and merchandise shelves, cereal and bread bar, salad bar, and coolers
• May wash and sanitize dishes and utensils
• Record temperatures, label products in accordance with FIFO, complete waste log and cleaning log
• Adhere to all Aramark and Saint Mary's University policies and procedures
• May perform other job duties as required

Job Responsibilities

• Assures quality, courteous customer service is provided to all customers
• Light cash handling duties including processing customer transactions, balancing float, participating in audits
• Educate customers on menu items, daily features, dining hall events

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience is an asset
• Experience as a server is an asset
• Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Additional certification may be required by work location
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
