Job summary

Hylands Golf Club, as part of Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS), seeks a greenskeeper to maintain greens, tees and fairways on a 36-hole course and to perform related horticultural tasks. You will operate turf equipment and contribute to landscape maintenance to deliver a first-class golfing experience.

The role requires a High School diploma and landscaping experience, plus a valid Ontario G license. English is essential; bilingual is an asset.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and some years of landscaping experience.
  • Valid driver’s license class G (Ontario) or equivalent.
  • Experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
  • Experience in operating specialized turf care equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain greens, tee boxes, turf on fairways, sand traps and rough.
  • Repair and maintain golf course buildings, fences and related structures.
  • Assist with landscape construction and planting activities.
  • Support a safe, well-manicured course and operate equipment as trained.

THE ROLE

Since its inception, Hylands Golf Club has matured into a top-quality golf facility that offers a full range of services and amenities to its 1200 members and their guests. A true jewel among Canadian Forces golf facilities, Hylands continues to host numerous regional, national and international events. As part of CFMWS, our mandate is to provide affordable golf to our local military personnel and their families. If you enjoy the outdoors and want to work in a first-class golf course setting with a dynamic team, Hylands Golf Club is the perfect place to work. As an integral part of the grounds maintenance department, as a greenskeeper, you will be trained on different equipment in order to maintain all playing surfaces on a 36 hole golf course. You will maintain greens, tee box areas, turf on fairways, sand traps and rough. You will perform basic horticultural duties such as planting and pruning trees, shrubs and flowers, creating, maintaining flowerbeds, spreading topsoil, laying sod, planting flowers and assist with the construction of a landscape and related structures. As the greenskeeper, you will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing golf course buildings, structures and accessories such as fences, benches and stakes, removing rocks from fairways and repairing and filling fairway and tee divots. Qualifications Needed

  • High School diploma AND some years of experience in landscaping
  • Valid driver’s license class G (Ontario) or equivalent
