Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock in Toronto (Hybrid) is seeking a Data Governance professional to own and implement governance policies across segments. You will partner with segment leadership, guide policy adoption, monitor KPIs, and provide executive updates on gaps and recommendations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with 3+ years in data governance, knowledge of data catalogue and metadata management, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, management or related discipline.
• 3+ years of data governance experience.
• Strong knowledge of data governance concepts and tools; AI readiness.

Responsibilities

• Own and support the implementation of Global Data Governance policies, standards, and frameworks across all segments.
• Partner with segment data governance leadership to maintain, update, and evolve policies and standards in response to regulatory and business needs.
• Provide direction and guidance to segment data governance teams on standards adoption, compliance monitoring, and KPI interpretation.
• Monitor data governance metrics and KPIs, including progress tracking, risk identification, and remediation support.
• Prepare and deliver executive-ready updates for senior leadership on governance adoption, gaps, and recommendations.
