Job description

Our client is searching for a GIS Technician to join their team. A successful candidate will engage in vital work managing spatial data and mapping services that directly impact land and utilities construction projects.

Your responsibilities include:
  1. Identify, modify, and sign off all map changes
  2. Monitor Data Management Mapping Distribution System assets in both Trimble and ArcGIS mapping systems
  3. Maintain mapping database and ensure that the database is up to date and accurate
  4. Produce maps for use by internal departments
  5. Produce mapping files for external use
Your strengths include:
  1. 2+ years of post-secondary education and experience with ESRI ArcGIS systems
  2. Experience with field data collection software such as Trimble or ArcGIS Field Maps
  3. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  4. Ability to work effectively with co-workers
  5. Previous experience in rural power distribution system operations (asset)
  6. Working knowledge of AutoCAD (required)
