Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a dynamic Junior Geological Engineer to join the Geotechnical Practice. The role is based in Vaughan or Ottawa with flexibility for GTA and wider Ontario.

You will support senior staff in field investigations, geological mapping, terrain assessments, and geotechnical analyses for infrastructure projects. The successful candidate has a Bachelor’s in Geological Engineering or related field, E.I.T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering, Geological Sciences, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university.
• A relevant postgraduate qualification (M.Sc. or equivalent) would be considered an asset.
• Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.), or eligible for registration with the applicable provincial engineering association, with commitment toward licensure (P.Eng.).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant post-graduate experience in geological/geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, mining, tunneling, rock mechanics, geohazards or related sectors.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills in multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, and quality management practices.
• Willingness to travel within Ontario and nationwide.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support senior technical staff in planning and executing field investigations, geological mapping, terrain assessments, and geotechnical analyses.
• Assist in engineering studies for infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings effectively.
