Job summary

Englobe in Ontario is seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to support the planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of geotechnical investigations for transportation, municipal, and infrastructure projects. Under supervision of senior staff, you will participate in field investigations, laboratory testing programs, data interpretation, and report preparation, with opportunities toward P.Eng.

licensure and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Geotechnical or Geological Engineering.
• Eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
• 0–4 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Co-op or internship experience in geotechnical consulting or materials testing is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC) and CFEM.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; geotechnical software experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and supervise geotechnical field inspections including drilling and test pit programs.
• Conduct foundation investigations and basic shallow and deep foundation design under supervision.
• Select material samples for geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Prepare borehole logs and factual reports.
• Liaise with subcontractors, clients and project managers.
• Support experienced geotechnical staff as required.
