Job summary

TBT Engineering is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Canada to contribute to a variety of projects under the mentorship of Professional Engineers. You will develop expertise in soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and site investigations as you progress toward licensure.

This full-time position emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, fieldwork, and client engagement, with a competitive salary and benefits package reflecting experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian university.
  • Field experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, regulations, and engineering software.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in geotechnical engineering design and analysis, including foundation design and slope stability analysis and interpret geotechnical site investigations, including drilling of boreholes and laboratory testing of soils and rocks.
  • Support technical and project management activities through design development, construction review, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prepare, verify, and finalize technical reports, calculations, and other project deliverables with attention to accuracy and quality standards.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including research, site reviews, inspections, testing, and technical investigations to support project design and delivery.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation and actively participate in engagement with clients, regulatory agencies, the public, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with Professional Engineers to apply engineering principles, develop practical solutions, and advance toward professional licensure.

Position Description

Position Responsibilities

  • Support technical and project management activities through design development, construction review, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills in Geotechnical Engineering supported by a degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Field experience is considered an asset, along with a solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, regulations, and engineering software.

This position is classified as full time. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications ($62,400.00 per year +).
