Job summary

KGS Group in Mississauga is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Graduate to join the Geotechnical Department. You will perform geotechnical evaluations, write technical documents, conduct subsurface investigations, and assist with project scope and fee proposals as an entry-level engineer-in-training.

The role offers a hybrid work structure at our Mississauga office, opportunities for hands-on field work across Canada, and exposure to a wide range of geotechnical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering.
• 0–3 years’ geotechnical, geology, civil, or dam engineering experience including field logging and sampling.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
• Willing to travel locally and/or nationally up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scoping, developing budgets, executing, monitoring, and interpreting subsurface exploration programs
• Monitor and log test boring explorations including soil/rock identification and logging
• Install and monitor geotechnical instrumentation systems
• Review and interpret geotechnical lab results and perform calculations
• Prepare geotechnical data reports and calculation packages
• Write technical reports, memos, field reports, and permit documents
• Safely perform work in office and field; may travel up to 50% and lift ~50 pounds
