Job summary

TBT Engineering in Canada is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to diverse projects under mentorship of Professional Engineers, focusing on soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and site investigations as you work toward licensure.

You will conduct fieldwork, prepare reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical solutions while advancing toward licensure in a growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian university.
• Field experience is an asset.
• Solid understanding of codes, standards, regulations, and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Participate in geotechnical design and analysis, including foundation and slope stability.
• Interpret site investigations, drilling, and lab testing of soils and rocks.
• Support design development, construction review, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Prepare, verify, and finalize technical reports, calculations, and deliverables.
• Conduct fieldwork, site reviews, inspections, and technical investigations.
• Contribute to proposals and engage with clients, regulators, the public, and suppliers.

Position Description

Contribute to a variety of Geotechnical Engineering projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams under the mentorship of experienced Professional Engineers. Apply and expand your technical knowledge in soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and site investigation as you develop toward professional licensure in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

Position Responsibilities

• Participate in geotechnical engineering design and analysis, including foundation design and slope stability analysis and interpret geotechnical site investigations, including drilling of boreholes and laboratory testing of soils and rocks.
• Support technical and project management activities through design development, construction review, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare, verify, and finalize technical reports, calculations, and other project deliverables with attention to accuracy and quality standards.
• Conduct fieldwork, including research, site reviews, inspections, testing, and technical investigations to support project design and delivery.
• Contribute to proposal preparation and actively participate in engagement with clients, regulatory agencies, the public, and suppliers.
• Collaborate closely with Professional Engineers to apply engineering principles, develop practical solutions, and advance toward professional licensure.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills in Geotechnical Engineering supported by a degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Field experience is considered an asset, along with a solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, regulations, and engineering software.

This position is classified as full time. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications ($62,400.00 per year +).
