Job summary

Geotech Drilling, part of the ConeTec Group, invites skilled Geotechnical Drillers to join our expanding Western Canada teams. Based in Prince George with field work across BC and AB, you will operate drilling rigs, perform sampling, monitor instrumentation, and contribute to safety and quality on challenging projects.

The role requires 3–5 years in geotechnical or environmental drilling, a valid Class 5 driver's license, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling.
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
• Pre-employment drug & alcohol test required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor instruments (pressure gauges, weight indicators) and observe returns.
• Employ sampling techniques per project requirements.
• Perform record keeping as requested by client/company.
• Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment (trucks, pumps, heaters, compressors).
• Supervise Drill Assistant and crew to ensure HSE compliance.
• Ensure Drill Assistant maintains equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.

Join Our Team as a Geotechnical Driller!

Are you a skilled Geotechnical Driller looking to grow your career with a company that supports development and hands‑on learning? We’re looking for motivated drillers who are ready to expand their skill set and contribute to a variety of challenging geotechnical projects.

We are seeking candidates with experience in the following drilling methodologies and field activities:

• Geotechnical Heli
• Coring
• Mud Rotary
• Packer Testing
• SPTs (Standard Penetration Tests)
• Installations
• Sonic Drilling

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
• Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
• Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.
• Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
• Supervise Drill Assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Ensure Driller Assistant maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.

Professional Experience / Qualifications

• Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
• Have 3-5 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling.
• Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
• Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Compensation

$34.00 - $45.00 per hour plus project specific bonuses.
