Job summary

Coeur Silvertip mine in British Columbia seeks a Geological Technician (Temporary) to work in a camp-based environment on a two-week in/two-week out rotation.

You will perform geotechnical logging of drill core, maintain data, prepare samples, and assist geologists, with training provided. A geoscience background and a valid driver\'s license are required; lifting core boxes up to 60 pounds is expected.

Qualifications

• Fundamental geologic knowledge.
• Post-secondary education in geosciences.
• Core logging and cutting experience.
• Experience working with oriented core.
• Valid driver\'s license.
• Able to lift core boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Complete geotechnical logging of oriented diamond drill core.
• Maintain core logging data in database.
• Sample and cut diamond drill core (fit-tested respirator required).
• Track and catalogue drill core and samples.
• Manage core sample shipments.
• Perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment, and follow Safe Operating Procedures.
• Assist geologists as required.

Geological Technician - Temporary Contract:

The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Geological Technician (Temporary) to work in a camp-based environment rotating on a two week in/two week out shift rotation.

Responsibilities:

• Complete geotechnical logging of oriented diamond drill core;
• Maintain core logging data in database;
• Sample and cut diamond drill core (fit-tested respirator required);
• Track and catalogue drill core and samples;
• Manage core sample shipments;
• Perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment, and perform all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures;
• Assist geologists as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Fundamental geologic knowledge considered an asset;
• Post-Secondary Education in geosciences considered an asset;
• Core logging and cutting experience considered an asset;
• Experience working with oriented core considered an asset;
• Valid driver's license;
• Able to lift core boxes weighing up to 60 pounds;
• Physically fit to perform the duties of the position;
• Training provided.

Additional Information:

• Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
• Eligible for monthly bonus.
• Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
