You'll work alongside some of the best technicians in the industry, utilizing the latest technology tools and equipment. Responsibilities & Expectations:

As a Generator Field Service Technician, you will service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field, helping our residential, commercial, and industrial clients keep their power on.

• Preventative maintenance: scheduled services for oil & filter changes, spark plugs, coolant, and filters
• Inspections: visual checks on mechanical and electrical systems
• Cleaning: oil, fuel, and air filters, cooling systems, and exterior of units
• Testing: load bank, ATS, and function testing
• Troubleshooting: alternators, wiring harnesses, switches, switchgear, batteries, engines
• Diagnosis: failure analysis, battery systems using multimeter and other tools
• Commissioning & Start-Ups: design review, testing, switchgear, program control panels, network setup
• Brands: Kohler, CAT, Cummins, Generac, Deere, Onan, MTU, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Detroit Diesel, Asco, Atlas Copco, etc., up to 2.5 meg

• Customer Service: communicate clearly with customers about issues and resolutions
• Documentation: complete reports on work performed
• Company vehicle: travel within local counties, maintain vehicle inventory and safety

Qualifications and Competencies:

Training programs are available if you do not meet all qualifications. However, the following are preferred:

• Graduation from a technical school related to generators, diesel, power gen, or electrical systems
• Experience in generator repair or maintenance; or equivalent education and experience
• Mechanical aptitude can substitute for technical schooling and experience
• Good communication and customer service skills
• At least 3 years of driving experience
• Satisfactory driving record and ability to obtain DOT medical certification
• Availability for after-hours and on-call service
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and safety guidelines
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in demanding physical and weather conditions
