Manulife/John Hancock seeks an experienced Manager/Senior Manager to provide independent second-line oversight of AI model risk across the enterprise. You will evaluate AI/ML methodologies, data quality, testing approaches, and monitoring practices while challenging stakeholders and reporting to governance committees.

The role focuses on Generative AI, LLMs, foundation models, and Agentic AI, ensuring risk management aligns with regulatory expectations in a highly regulated financial services

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience for Manager-level or 10+ years for Senior Manager-level.
• Experience in AI, Data Science, ML, Model Risk Management or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of AI model lifecycle management, governance, and controls.

Responsabilités

• Provide independent second-line oversight and challenge of AI model risk management practices, validation outcomes, risk assessments, controls, and monitoring activities.
• Review medium- and high-risk AI initiatives to assess risks and escalation.
• Evaluate AI/ML methodologies, data quality, testing approaches, performance metrics, and monitoring practices.
• Assess risks related to Generative AI, LLMs, foundation models, RAG, third-party AI, and Agentic AI.
• Conduct risk-based reviews and thematic assessments to identify emerging risks and portfolio-level concerns.
• Develop and communicate independent opinions, recommendations, and risk-based challenge positions.
• Produce executive-ready risk assessments, management reporting, and governance materials.
• Translate complex findings into business, governance, and risk implications for senior stakeholders.
