Posting for Hall Manager

F.R.B.A. is seeking an experienced General Manager (Hall Manager) to oversee all aspects of bingo operations, ensuring compliance with gaming regulations. Responsibilities include managing staff, coordinating games, managing finances, inventory, and AGLC reporting, working collaboratively with AGLC for compliance, marketing and enhancing the customer experience.

Fort Road Bingo Association in Edmonton, AB, is a community-focused bingo hall supporting 45 local charities allowing players to support a variety of community initiatives while playing. Open 7 days a week with 700 seats, it offers affordable, daily games featuring electronic Geckos, progressive pots, and a top-notch concession with table service. Located at 13403 Fort Rd NW, it is a popular spot for avid Bingo enthusiasts. Two main events per day as well as special events, including 1/2 price bingo nights and featuring various games like Double Action Progressive, Frenzy Progressive, and early bird "Pre-call" games. Affordable $1 gaming cards also make Fort Road Bingo Centre a wonderful, affordable leisure and social venue for guests.

Mandatory AGLC pre-requisites and qualifications
  • To manage a bingo hall in Alberta, you must meet the specific registration and training requirements set by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Control (AGLC).
  • You must be a Registered Gaming Worker to hold a management position in a licensed bingo facility. You must submit the Registration application for Gaming Worker – Licensed bingo facility at least four weeks prior to starting employment.
  • A clear criminal record check completed by Edmonton Police Services (urban residents) or RCMP (suburban and rural residents).
  • SMART Training to be completed within 30 days of employment start date. The SMART Training program includes but is not limited to: "A Good Call", Anti-Money Laundering (AML), GAINS (Gaming information Network) – this training helps member organizations follow provincial policies.
  • Must be 18 years old.
Experience and Education
  • Experience: 2–5+ years of experience in gaming, banking, hospitality, or retail management, with specific experience managing bingo events or operations highly preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Favor: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in finance, hospitality, business management, or a related field.
  • Career Path: Many managers work their way up from entry-level positions like bingo callers, cashiers, or floor supervisors.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in managing finances, budgets, and knowledge of accounting principles (will oversee a bookkeeper/manager of finance). Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Familiarity and proficiency with bingo equipment and technology.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the bingo hall including gaming operations, staffing, concession, building systems and property maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with AGLC regulations governing bingo.
  • Ensure the hall follows the Commercial Bingo Handbook (CBH), including new regulations for raffles and pull-ticket sales.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise bingo staff, department supervisors (Bingo Operations, Finance, Concession).
  • Ensure charity club volunteers are compliant with AGLC regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of revenue, expenses, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with chartered accountants for annual financial engagement reviews or audits.
  • Coordinate the semi-annual and annual general meetings (the general membership meets twice per year) and other general meetings of the membership which may occur.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase participation and revenue.
  • Resolve customer complaints and address any issues that arise during bingo events.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Report directly to the Board of Directors; communicate and consult with the Board.
  • Prepare, submit, and present monthly reports to the Board of Directors and manage Board meetings in collaboration with the President or Vice President chairing those meetings.

Starting salary is $65,000 to $75,000 dependent upon experience and education. The deadline for this posting is May 31st, 2026.
