Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a General Manager who will provide support, leadership, and direction to the assigned operating location to ensure the delivery of annual business plans. He/she will control the daily operation of our transportation contract, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with company procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs.
  2. Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
  3. Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members.
  4. Oversee vehicle maintenance plans and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
  5. Oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.
  7. Conduct periodic departmental audits.
  8. Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
  9. Manage all location financial metrics continuously, report exceptions, and develop action plans to meet financial, safety, and operational expectations.
  10. Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  11. Interact with the bridges committee to effectuate positive changes to policies, procedures, and programs.
  12. Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities.
  13. Provide insights and information to support location(s) contract renewals.
  14. Create and present the location(s) annual budget.
Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  1. College degree or equivalent business management experience.
  2. Management experience required.
  3. Minimum of five (5) years of comprehensive operations management experience and a total of seven (7) years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment with knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software.
  4. Labor/union negotiations and expense management expertise.
  5. Understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office, strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high multi-tasking ability.
  7. Additional duties and responsibilities based on individual contract requirements.

Starting salary range: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00
