Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for the overall Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling (P-O-L-C) functions of the facility. This role involves managing all aspects of the P-O-L-C framework to lead the facility and staff towards meeting budget, revenue, and customer satisfaction goals. The manager will foster a customer-first environment, ensuring policies, quality, and service standards are maintained while offering innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

Essential Duties
  1. Partner with HR to attract, recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, high-performing team.
  2. Train and develop staff to meet company guidelines and expectations.
  3. Ensure continuous, positive communication and feedback with staff, including timely delivery of annual reviews (CIS).
  4. Lead with an innovative, creative, and inspirational leadership style, holding staff accountable fairly to drive performance.
  5. Create a highly engaged team environment that promotes execution, innovation, productivity, and leadership development.
  6. Maintain high integrity in all interactions and decisions.
  7. Manage day-to-day operations, becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all process areas both in the office and yard tasks.
  8. Oversee recruitment and management of sub-haulers to meet logistical requirements.
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines, including System Quality Reviews, Field Quality Reviews, and Safety Reviews.
  10. Proactively raise concerns that could negatively impact the facility, employees, or customers to the Regional Manager.
  11. Set and monitor goals, ensuring employees utilize available tools for success.
  12. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance (county, state, EPA, OSHA, DMV).
  13. Disseminate knowledge throughout the location to promote transparency and clarity on company goals.
  14. Manage customer relationships with buyers, sellers, and internal stakeholders.
  15. Identify knowledge and skill gaps within the team and implement remedies.
  16. Act as a brand ambassador, embodying the company's mission, vision, values, and culture.
  17. Communicate effectively at all organizational levels, both written and verbal.
  18. Support local or non-local CAT events as needed.
  19. Understand and manage the profit and Loss statement, seeking ways to increase revenue and reduce costs.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or upper management.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of management experience; military or relevant experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of operational excellence and achieving corporate goals.
  • Data-driven with a focus on metrics.
  • Experience supporting change initiatives and managing change positively.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective decision-making, active listening, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Motivated, positive attitude with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License; travel may be required.
